Mark, I might use that idea, but I really want to get the gauges mounted a little lower. I need to get the headlight in there to see how much room I have.

I got the last little bit of attachments to the battery box done tonight.

Here you can see where I got the regulator mounted to the top, and I also have the studs to hold down the top.

Here you can see the panel mounted, and I got a mounting bracket for the starter solenoid.

The view from the top

You ain't kidding buddy. That thing is close, but it seemed to fit last night. I still need to weld in the little tab that has the bottom grommet for the side panel.

Finished up the fitting of the battery box today, and I got started on the headlight mounting. I also installed the little turn signal lamps.

I cut and bent these mounts to wrap around the new fork legs. They are cut from 16ga. steel.

A close-up of the turn signals. I liked these b/c they are actually metal bodied. Most of what you find these days are those cheesy plastic things.

I took this last picture for Leon. I just wanted to prove that my side panel does fit over the electrics.

hey those sidecovers seem to fit just right,i figured you had checked that.but man was i gonna rib you if they didn't  .your bike has a killer stance, good header clearance.i don't know about them clip-ons tho  .maybe that L1 vertebrete i crushed in my back is the reason they look low to me :P .couldn't have nuthin to do with turnin 40 this dec.
do you have to have turn signals down there in tejas?
i like the flat kz seat you used better than the ltd step seats.

Thanks fellas. Leon, I'm not sure about the clipons. I have no back problems, and the riding position is similar to the ZX-10r. I do have a set of dirtbike style bars that may go on there, but I'll have to get or make some risers. I know that my wife would appreciate the bars for the rare times that she rides the bike. As for the turn signals, they always check 'em on my state inspections, so I assume that you need them. Originally I had a super crusty LTD seat that came with the bike, but not even the seat pan was salvagable. I like the flat seat too, and I may even have a seat made that is a little lower. Again the wife would appreciate that. I'm a whole foot taller than she is. You should see her ride the 10r. Tip tip tippy toe.

here in oklahoma if they are on there(turn signals)they have to work,if they are not on there you have to use hand signals(or at least your wife has to  )but we don't have annual state inspections anymore.but the highway patrol can pull you over and inspect you.i am fortunate to have a buddy that is a hi-po and i always have him check my stuff over while we are having some libations  .

You don't have annual safety inspections! What! So do you expect to get pulled over regularly just because? I bet some "undocumented workers" are heading your way upon hearing the news about no state inspections.
