The forcast high is 76 here tomorrow. That's why I want to paint then. I would rather it be warm when I paint. Raining it's ass off here right now. Gotta love Texas weather. Thunderstorms in late December.

What kinda boat you working on? I haven't mentioned it, but I also have a 1978 Glastron. That freakin thing uses gas faster than a big block. I haven't run it in two years.

awesome boat , do you ge to use it...my coworker has one for "make me an offer" with low hours sitting under a trap..he is over it...i am jonesin for some water access...i watch C-list all the time...killer deals..i got no truck at present, or way to justify storing a boat here....i may go the sea kayak route this yr and just tie it on my beater civic..hard on the back after an hour sitting there at sea level.....

we had a giant 2 month run of white sea bass and guys were getting three keepers a day...one of these would pull the kayak out to sea a half mile before landing it...

No, I haven't really used it in two years. The gas prices got high and I parked it. Then the steering cable froze up, and I haven't fixed that yet. It makes a terrible fishing boat because of the hull design. Can't run in shallow water, and the little ripple waves slap against the hull and scare the fish.

Honestly, you should go the kayak route. I got one a while back and I love it. No fuel, no registration fees, no trailer tags, and it will damn near float on my driveway in a hard rain.

I'm planning on selling the boat when spring rolls around. I have it in storage, and I'm tired of paying for that. My subdivision won't let you park it on your property unless it fits in the garage.

well another good tip....i know folks get boat, then use it a bit then it uses them for a bit...

kinda like getting a horse and then it is staring at you all year......

the C-list kayaks go up and down in price with season it seems.....folks upgrade or dump em in summer and i think i want a decent one...after the paint job maybe....tax return one....peace

Boats and kayaks, much like motorcycles are best bought in winter. You get a discount for buying when the weather is nasty. We did the same thing when we bought our miata. Same car is $1000 more when the sun is shining.

circle topics...google laguna seca miata club or the like...

some days i see 30 of em in street trim driving to the track with painters taper for numbers...they have big following here and some are even painted race numbers....if they are at the track ,we see em everywhere for a few days...everywhere....

It should be street ready in about two weeks. I would love to make the GP, but I cannot commit at this time. If I were single I could do it in a heartbeat, but I have to play my cards just right to break away from the family for a while. Hopefully I can work it in this year. Have they announced a date for the 2011 race yet?

hey testa the steps are for a guy i work with that is a huge vintage boat aficionado.the boat is a century he told me the particulars but i don't remember he goes through a bunch of boats i think this one is in the 40's/50's.
i bought my old 1976 penn-yann tunnel drive from him several years back.
it is a ski boat with an inboard bluewater merc drivetrain.was 225hp reverse rotation 302ci.ford.i then updated to a stand alone electronic ignition and wired it up wrong and took it out and spun 4 and 8 rod bearings(due to firing way before top dead center).now it is almost finished it is a poked and stroked 347ci. ford with a cast steel knife edged crank 4340 h-beam rods and forged probe pistons,and ported heads.should be bulletproof,hopefully .

I have enough trouble finding time for 2 bikes. u guys tell us about new projects every day it seems. lol
