Ted that looks way better than it did in your dimly lit garage last time I saw it up here. Stop spending your lunch money, don't buy coffees, ask the wife for your allowance and don't spend it, etc, etc. You will have your Dyna before you know it. Get that hanger queen running. Tell Dave to buy an enduro too, so I have someone to ride dirt with next spring. Oops, off topic. Troy341

Troy hey !!

Thanks for stoppin in. See I probably would have the ignition by now but I have come across this new bad thing......

Titanium...

It's like a drug very expensinve, except it's shiny.

Actually I am working the 400 dollar thing. I got a check from the racetrack, for 60 bucks, just almost enough to buy a slug of roundstock to turn into the titanium rear axle. Oh Yeeeaaahhhh, and I know where there is a gundrill, it will be hollow titanium.

Did I tell you I am working in a machine shop?? Hee hee.

Anyway I will probably turn this axle down in a couple weeks in Eds garage, naturally there will be expensive Scotch involved.

Ed is building this nice pleasant Honda 90 all restored like, except it's gonna have a big bore kit, five angle valve job, I ported the head for Ed... and a stroker crank....uh ohhhh!! then the flatslide carb gets added.

... So while waiting for the 400 to come around, I have been busy. This motor for the Ed 90 is the dry run motor for the Bonneville 90.

I get looking at stuff, like the aluminum spacers for the rear wheel/ caliper mount. They look heavy so I lightend them yet again. Bought two more Titanium bolts....I love titanium..it's like a drug, but shiny.

It's all getting out of control now. 418 pounds at this point. When the swingarm gets back from powdercoat, I'll be all into the ignition to get it running.

For now it's a "Hanger Queen" for sure. I think I have a problem...Titanium addiction...it's like a drug but shiny.

How is the 160 doin??

It's for sale. I scraped the shiny bits down in t11 in Spokompton and decided that the pain in the ass factor of racing has trumped the fun factor. In the next race after I got it back together, all I could think of was "If I crash this bike I am gonna have to rebuild it.....again". I discovered dirt bikes and can now go fast and jump off my bike (without the repair worry) whenever I need to. I bought a cheapass video camera and even have a 'point of view' video of me doing the tuck and roll after an unsuccessful hill climb. The best part is the old man grunt when I try to pick up the 315# pig from the downhill side. After I repaint and polish the 160 it will fund Christine's bike repair and the furthering of the shop build. I will continue to lurk and admire your bike, you keep building it so my lurkage isn't in vain. Cheers. Troy341

I won't sell it to a friend. I want more money than that for it. LOL. Here www.thumpertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=855343&highlight= is a thread on Thumpertalk that shows my new money pit and has a pre-asphalt modified pic of the 160. Troy341

EDIT:It looks like you need to copy/paste the pic links to the address bar to get them to show if you aren't registered.

Ohhhhhhhhhhh oh boy.

So I got the quote for the titanium bar stock, and the purchasing guy says do you want it? so I give out me credit card, and bam....the Ti arrives.......all of it. I was in a hurry and did not specify which length I wanted.

There were two sizes quoted, and I got both, as that was the quote. I just wanted to see price difference.

So now...I may be selling a Titanium axle to anyone interested. I wanted 18" length, got 51" of material.

Ohhhh yeahhhh. Plenty ...plenty titanium now.:P
