The bolts came from a UK corp, but were shipped from Truckee Ca. not far from here....heee heee....dumpster divin mission sooooonn.

Today I spent some time porting a Honda CT 90 Head... for my good buddie Ed..

Ed is restoring an old one, but it will have some attitude, a cam, and bigger carb.

Can you shave a little weight off the sprocket by punching some additional, smaller holes (or maybe an aluminum sprocket) and using titianium sprocket nuts/bolts? Also, maybe punch some holes in the countersprocket as these are usually solid. Ed

How close are you to your weight goal? Have you actually weighed the bike? 450 is in the territory of a modern 1000cc sport bike. I would be interested to see if you can get there.

Well I have the Scale now. I will need to level the bike and weigh each end on the scale. I'm nervous about the diet......

Next Saturday i will be at the mill, I can do this!!

The titanium uuhhhh oohhhhh fasteners, they will cut into the Dyna 400 dollar ignition budget but i like it, might do it anyway.

I'm just going to throw this out there for you...

4 days ago a guy I know with a little repair shop was riding an old CBR Honda on a test ride.

He's going down the road about 70mph, SNAP... and the ass end of the bike hits the road. Long story short he crashed and broke his foot pretty badly.

I looked at the bike yesterday. To me it looks like somebody got carried away with the rear shock mount. It was wicked light aluminum plates and they broke...ripped right through the bolt holes :ohmy: It sure didn't look like OEM bracket.
Just be careful with your build bud.... That's all I'm saying..... be careful

Not picking anything apart on your bike.

why dont u just spring for the Dyna, and ride that baby ? then u can continue the diet while riding. remember that these PROJECT BIKES are never finished. they are just always a work in progress. at some point u just have to say , its time to stop looking at it and coming up with new ideas and ride her.trust me when i say ,the ideas never stop coming. :laugh:

Don't know if you read the reply in my thread but yes, mine weighs 450lbs with a full tank of gas, 51/49 F/R. Not bad for a steel framed bike with a lug of a motor... I forget what just the motor weighs but it's a large chunk of weight... Mark is right, it never ends... Don't get too carried away with the weight savings if you are close to your goal :whistle: You've done all the big stuff. Bike looks great!
