A little late to the party but anyway I picked up the Suzuki petcock 3 or 4 years ago here and have had good luck with it..... might buy a good used manual 1977 KZ one for my second tank but no rush for that right now. I plugged the vac hoses off and am just using prime and run for off but I'm sure it will work correctly with the vac hooked up for ya.

Is there any reason the 51023-1375 genuine Kawasaki petcock that is readilly available would not work? It has 44mm bolt spacing. Just the higher price is the reason? $77.00 at Z1 enterprises. I'd have much more faith in a Kawasaki part than an aftermarket made in China petcock for the extra $30
321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

Hey Ron,

Um? I dunno. I found the one I ordered via referral from here. Z1 stipulates on their web site that it works for kz660c so i went with it. All of the searching i did otherwise resulted in units with 34mm c/c mounts and yet still matched "kz650 petcock".
So, as i said in my 650 thread, i have learned much about the 650 but also myself - i suck at online shopping! LOL

I dunno why Z1 would promote a Suzi part for this application (mentioned on the 650 forum too by Z1) if they actually carry the Kaw part?

I just stumbled over this thread, Wrench, and I'm leaning towards getting that Suzi petcock. Please let me know if it slaps on easily and mounts up right!

Hey Devin! Fancy meeting up with you here.

Yes. The new Suzi petcock just arrived today so I'll be test fitting and taking pics of it in the morning. I have already looked it over and it looks essentially identical to the one that was original to my bike. Only significant differences outwardly is the position of the vacuum port (which can be rotated around anyway as Enhanced, had to fit his 650-D). I guess the actual lever handle is smaller but otherwise it looks like a quality part with smooth action on the lever's rotation..

Hey Steve. Pics? You want pics? Well, I got pics for ya:

Made in Japan even! Nice!

Pretty much same thing as what I had but handle is a little smaller which I actually like more anyway.

The vacuum port is apparently an interference on some models with the frame but it can be (and has been) rotated to different positions

Crappy photo but it is actually 44mm c/c on mounts so should be a straight shot onto tank.

I'm excited to get it mounted tomorrow after I weld new upholstery points onto my seat pan so I can finally install my new seat! I will certainly update here on the process of mounting the petcock and it's operation once I get this bike running.

Yes. That was the first thing I noticed too. Sigh of relief!
The operation of the valve/handle is snug but smooth and given that others here on the forum have been running it for months to years without problems, I'm pretty hopeful that I'll join the ranks of functional petcock that works as intended.
Of course, this is KZombie, so ... I'm keeping my lucky horseshoe in my back pocket tomorrow just in case ;)

Yep that's the one remember the box now... couldn't remember was thinking Japan but couldn't remember for sure so I kept quiet... rear facing outlet works out great with a approx a 9 inch to one foot piece of line gently angled and looped around and straight into a filter then into the carbs with no kinks.

Looks good. Really a big plus being made in Japan. Should work out just fine.

Maybe a filter with a 90 degree angle would help from kinking the line for your application
