I tried to cheap out on mirrors at first. Wasted $15. Chintzy and made to thread into a bar end bung. Useless to me.
Spent another $26 and got some decent quality mirrors with an expander that slides inside the bar. Much better.

Next up a solo seat.

Go to www.fastfromthepast.com and get a set of their "Case Savers". If you go down, they will save you $$$$ on possible engine damage. The savers may not look "Cool", but you'll still have a bike.

Nice find. I already am liking the look with just the new bars. Get some new cables asap though, it looks like you've got spaghetti dangling from your bars :P .

Where are you in WA? Looks like west side judging by those last pics?

Good idea on the case savers, I was planning on some delrin frame sliders on the engine mount bolts.

Spokane area actually, just rainy today and spring is coming hard.

Yes, need cables bad. Bike budget is about dried up this month though.

Would it be possible for a mod to move this to the project section?

Minor update. After a couple weeks of walking away from rotten deals on ebay I finally scored an 03 Sportster seat for an acceptable price. Can't wait to see how it looks mounted.

No real updates, still waiting on parts to come in. Here's another version of what I'm going for, a friendly soul chopped it for me to reflect the colors I have in mind (gunmetal tank/covers and chrome fenders) and the USD forks.

First frame mod, cleaning up brackets in the way.

Now we're talking.

Kinda what I'm going for.

But what to do with the frame sticking out? I wish the shock mount was an inch or so more forward. Might have to remedy that.

Brainstorming how to brace the rear. I have to figure out where is best to put it so I can keep it clean and fit a fender. I tried slipping the old rear hoop into the tubes and it works, but the fender is smashed into the tire. I think something like this will be needed.

Or maybe this to get the shock forward. (yes, it looks like the same spot as the other but it's not to scale)
