thanks, I was kinda thinking the same thing. gotta make sure the oil pump gear clears the new weld also. It's almost flush so I think it's Ok.

I did the dry assembly and everything seems fine. The trans won't shift into 2nd or higher, but I think this is normal because of the 3 balls in the trans shaft which are not spinning right now... anyone? :huh: First and neutral shift normally.

I still can't decide if I'm leaving out the kickstart shaft.. :S no time left to decide :pinch:

that o-ring in the middle. Is that a regular metric o-ring. I cant find it in the parts diagram.

It's the oil passage seal. it's not an o-ring, it has a flat side and a beveled side. I believe there's one under the oil pump also

if its not too late. have a look at the springs in the back of the clutch basket. in time they ware on the housing and get tired and loose. they can even brake.

Does anyone know if this hole leads into the cases? I missed it somehow when blowing out media... :angry: I'm hesitant to blast air into it in case it's just going to get pushed into the case. There's so much crud that I can't tell if the hole has a bottom or not. Grrrr... I spent soooo much time blasting and cleaning everything.... :S
