OK now that I have air again it's back to work. Here's the front wheel in progress.
I did a thorough cleaning and polished the rims. This is my $4 polishing kit.

white primer because I figured the red paint might not cover the black/bare aluminum very well.
Despite very thorough cleaning/degreasing there were very slight fisheyes showing in the primer which did NOT show in the paint. So the primer did it's job.

Finished! I will probably add a black pinstripe on the edge where the paint meets the aluminum.

I finished painting the rear wheel the other day. Looks just like the front one.

I finally got my crank back from the machine shop. He said 2 weeks and it took 6 weeks... :pinch: Anyway... It looks like good work and I had him lightly hone the big bore cylinders also. So now I need to get going on the engine assembly. yay :)

Looks like the compressor was trying to start a fire for you. :pinch:
Glad you caught that before it was successful.

Got any pictures of the crank now?
I'm looking forward to your engine assembly. That's the good stuff.

BTW the wheels look good.

Is the shift drum in neutral? The position the manual shows seems wrong to me. Right now the detent is aligned with the spring thingamajig.

what if u just put the cases together(dry for now). if its in neutral and set up properly it should turn freely independent of the crank.
