Well....here is just one of my projects. I aquired this bike about 5 months ago from a guy who bought out an abandoned storage unit.It has 6K original miles on it and hasn't been registered since 1991.It had been sitting outside for a long period of time and the elements had taken a toll on the tank, tires and seat. I bought it for $300 and hauled it home.I had to find another tank & seat and bought a new battery. The first problem was a non-working fuel pump.I removed it and soaked it in cleaner overnight and got the pump working. Then I had to clean the injectors and replace some fuel line.Once this was done it started. After running it for a few minutes I discovered a leaking oil cooler line.Turns out it was cracked, which explained the mess underneath the bike.It took me a couple of weeks to find a replacement. I replaced the cooler line and ran it a couple of more times. Now the valves needed adjustment. It took me another week to get the shims and a gasket for the valve cover.Got that done and ran it a couple of more times tweaking things as I went along. Now I had it running pretty good but couldn't ride it. The front tire was rotted so bad it wouldn't hold any air at all.It took me a couple of weeks to find replacement tires in the right sizes. Got those replaced. Now the motor has started to make some odd noises. Now I find out the reason it hasn't been ridden since 91.The original owner must have ridden it with the oil line leaking for a little to long.I'm hearing rod knocking noises now.So I pulled the motor out and found a spun rod bearing on #3. So now the search starts for a replacement crankshaft and a good set of rods. I found both and now have the bottom end of the motor back together and sitting in the frame.I'm waiting on new piston pin circlips so I can put the top end back together.Hopefully in a week or so I'll have it running again and can take that first ride.

Spent some time sanding the body work this weekend. I have most of it in primer now and as soon as it clears up today I'm going to try and spray some color on it.Looks like my motor parts won't show up until close to the end of the week. Maybe this next weekend I'll get to start it up and maybe take that maiden voyage.

Thank you for fixing it up rather than letting it continue to rot.

No problem...at first I considered parting it out.But I just couldn't do it with so few miles on it. Its not going to look like a brand new bike or a complete restoration when I'm done. Hopefully it will just look like a low mileage, used,25 year old bike.

Finally spraying some color on it today.Just finished the first coat of black. Got the black done....now spraying the pieces that are solid red. Probably won't get to the part where I add the red to the black parts today. I guess that will be tomorrow along with the clear.

Keep up the good work and show us some pics of your progress.

I'm looking for a 750 Turbo to add to my collection. ;)
