thanks pyxen.

i'm getting an hour here, or 30 minutes there to work on it lately.

i had some free time yesterday, so i fabbed up the tabs for the lower linkage. no pic of them tho. maybe tonight. i'm going to do some speed holes, and use a gusseted plate to back these up for extra strength.

then, i am doing the upper shock mount.

i set up the rear wheel with the brake rotor and the cush drive also, to see where things will be lining up. my calibrated lazer eyeball tells me that the front sprocket is gonna need some serious offset. perhaps more than is good for it. i have a spare sprocket carrier, and i think i can get it chucked up in my little lathe. looks like enough meat there to take out 10 or 12mm, to bring the chain in closer to the tire.

have to see how that goes once i finish with the rear suspension.

are you going to run an outer bearing to support the crank for the sprocket, if it's going that far out?

i will if i have to, but i would prefer to say no to that.

if i can keep it around a 3/8ths offset, i would feel pretty warm and fuzzy about it.

it all is gonna depend on how much i can take off of the sprocket carrier face and still clear the lip of the tire.

i'll know in a few days, after i get the rear shock mounts all sussed out.

yup, gonna cut those off carefully so that you can re-use them. 8^)

clean them up a little, and i'll weld them right back on that ltd frame of yours.

i'll have them off probably by the weekend, if i get some time out in the shop.

Looks sweet! B) But I have one question for you. Isn't your chain going to ride on the top of the swingarm with that much angle to it. It looks like your going to go thru chain sliders like some of the guys on here go thru 12 packs. The swingarm on my 1000 is almost level and with a 18T sprocket the chain still rides the guide a bit. Lots of people worry about the sprocket alignment but most forget about the chain/swingarm thing.

Lots of pics of the upper shock mount, BTW. I need to know how for my "in the process of being" mono-shocked 'Strip-fighter.
