KZ1000 leaking cam chain tensioner ? was created by KZmarcel
Hi all,
my KZ1000 strip down and full spa treatment continues.
Quick questions regarding the engine as it came with a notable amount of dark greasy stuff around the cam chain tensioner.
I am wondering :
A. is this leak likely from the cam chain tensioner or elsewhere ?
B. can I just clean that up and continue my re-assembly (keeping an eye on seepage going forward) or is it a sign of a bad situation that I should tackle while I have the carbs off ?
Thanks in advance

I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

It looks like an oil leak. There is a gasket behind the tensioner. Best to get a new gasket, clean the area thoroughly and re-install.
