When I was in high school my parents and I had a deal: as long as the temp was 32F or higher (as reported by the local tv channel) then I could ride to school.

It's nice to have some wind chill numbers to describe the numbness and general frigid-idity that caused. :laugh:

that is a cool chart thanks for posting it. Kind of weird once the temp hits 95 and up the wind actually makes it hotter

I can tell you it's like a blast furnace. :pinch:

I lived and rode in Las Vegas in the early 80's. Oh yeah, riding around in 110F is like rideing around in a oven. Same thing here in Tucson AZ for the last 29 yrs. Still beats not rideing though. The sweat and jacket acts as a evap cooler. Biker AC! LOL!!

In the 80's I was stacking in Palm Desert (rafters, joists, etc.) during the summer. It paid more than framing, I was off that hot slab in 121* and I'd have a breeze up there. We'd quit at 3:00 and the ride home was murder until I got to 1000 Palms CYN. Down there it was at or below sea level. You can still see the water mark on the mountains from so long ago. Where I live it's 5-10* cooler at 1700'. Not much but each day coming home was a pleasure. Now I wonder how I lived through working and riding in that crap. The money was good but I'd never do it again. :dry:

Drove my rumble truck up here for Christmas. Brought some range fencing, the rails to keep baby away from the wood burner and a portrait that belonged to my mother. Looks good on their wall. My place is too small. Gonna snow tonight. Bossie's at a neighbor's place for safe keeping.

A friend was driving out there when he came on a town over a hill surrounded by a barbed wire and chain link fence 10' tall. He could see civilians walking around and was sent away by MP's. He said the place was spooky and felt it was some kind of concentration camp. GOD knows what's out there and they can have it. :S

Awesome t shirt . I will never forget the years stacking, framing, when it meant enough to take the place of school. Pay was good, jobs everywhere all you had to do was show up. I worked with crews I'll never forget. My first boss fitted me with his personal 6 1/2 skil worm drive and because of our sizes me and Bobby were the roof guys since the majority of the crews were 6' linebackers. I didn't know a fraction from a mile but when you had people willing to invest in you, it wasn't just work it was something much greater.

I used to think 30°f temp shifts was plenty, we're getting 50+°f changes. I think we had a day 52°f then the next was something like -4°f and I've been in the same area for almost two decades but I never actually paid enough attention to notice. My in-laws live in a place where it remains cold 8 days a week, ground frozen until spring, They couldn't have it any other way. To them we are city slickers which according to the www is a person with the sophistication and tastes or values generally associated with urban dwellers, typically regarded as unprincipled and untrustworthy. :laugh:

Supposed to be 60°f tomorrow.
