Funny how everybody's concept of cold differs.If I have to fire up a wood stove here in NY,I aint thinkin about riding

I had a roommate in college from Germany. That was the first time I met someone an adult who had the legal capacity to drive who never owned a vehicle or even the license up until that point and he was always the happiest camper. And then just recently I met an old-timer must have been in his sixties we we're talking about bikes and he says he never had a license never own a car and he was dead serious. I didn't know if I should shake the guy's hand or slowly back away.

When cold gotta throw the clothes in the dryer first and stay on the throttle to keep the adrenaline flowing otherwise it just sucks

Back in 1977 I was still in high school and had a Yamaha DT400 enduro, and even in 10" of snow I rode to school most days. Only enjoyment I got out of that waste of time to add to my 34 years of agony at my job. Probably one of the few that motorcycles have been my passion since I was 9yrs old. I did and still will ride whenever I can. Not through snow anymore though, but cold with correct gear I don't mind.

It was in the 40's this morning. Back in the 60-70's later this week. Crazy desert weather. :dry:

Well it may not be on that chart, but last night, going 0 mph, the windchill would have been -20 deg F. Definitely would need longer shorts.

My bike is still ready to ride but even if we have a nice day I have to ride a 1/2 mile down our soupy gravel road to get to the salt encrusted pavement

I'm done.... time for some much needed maintenance and fresh rubber.
The Mrs. is on a beautify the basement kick so we can't pull the bikes in yet , soon

I'm taking the truck to the high desert tomorrow. Rain, snow, not a good ride anyway you look at it. Going to pick up a railing to weld together so the baby won't touch the wood burner. She's into everything. Bringing some range fencing as well.

Wife let me use the 3rd bedroom from 1980 till 84 ...... 85 my second was born and that ended that but I never forgot it. Can still picture driving to the ups ware house (winter of 81) in my Pinto in a really bad ice storm picking up my Vance and Hines header on a Fri night so I could put it on the next day. They couldn't deliver it till Mon and I could not wait !!!!......:woohoo: Merry Christmas to you too Steve and the rest of ya.
