Scumbag just left here with a new tail piece and a few other old parts i didnt need but he did.
Got to let him bomb down the road on the 900 for a second too, hehe!
Thanks for coming over Scumbag, maybe next time we can tear something apart and get all greasy or even go for a ride.
I was told to have the Z1 shiny next time he comes over, so I need to sell a bunch of extra stuff i have around here and get busy.

Man I'm diggin' your project! Great stuff!
Oh, a cautionary insert: Muratic acid removes chrome (you probably know this), but the combination of muratic acid and chrome produces cianide gas...didn't know if you knew, but just trying to make sure this thread (and you) stay...er  ..."alive"...:

Cool looking project Scumbag!
There's a kit I think you can buy to pull those dents out with hotmelt glue. You glue these little pads on and connect a slide hammer to them and pull/tap the dents out from the outside. I haven't tried that method yet, but I have done it the old fashioned way, where you braze a piece of brazing rod to a penny, then solder the penny to the dent, then attach your slide hammer to the brazing rod and pull the dent out. Then you heat up the penny again to get it off of the tank, then sand off the solder residue (then polish). That works, but make damn sure the tank is cleaned of gas and fumes thoroughly.

well...it has been a heck of a long time since I have said anything on here and with the snowboard season over the bike should be getting done soon...
lotsa progress...new oil and filter after finding out the PO cross threaded the oem bolt, tapped it for standard 1/2 inch and its good to go...the pipes are all wrapped up and if I do say so myself look pretty good...little odds and ends were tied up...the taillight is almost mounted but was thwarted by a faulty saw blade...
well anyway here are some pictorials

Very awesome polish job!! The top trees look great..man. I'm close to getting a set of clubmans for my ride now. Very very good job on the tank too, looks great!
Are the sidecovers and tail painted a chrome, or still white?

well well well...
so I am done with school for the summer and I have finally got myself in gear...feels soooo good to have time to work on the bike!...Also if you happen to have either the left or right or both hand controls for either a 77 or 78 650...let me know
list of what's gone on in the last few days:
1.Drilled sprocket cover
2.Fender eliminated and tail light remounted on new brackets
3.Side covers painted awaiting clear coat
4.Some little odds and ends ordered from Z1
5.Tail section bodywork almost done
Oh and I have a Kerker pipe that I have from another deal and if anyone wants it, PM me and we can work something out...its kind of rough looking but hey it might do good by someone...

Cool. That's a lot of holes! I've been toying with a similar idea.
