Thanks. I'm still waiting for my 6 gauge wire to show up so I can finish my wiring, and my cup gun shat the bed, so I can't blow paint (although I've finally got everything mudded, primed, sanded, and ready to squirt!) so this was most of my weekend. I feel like I've made some real advances on a skill I totally lacked 48 hours ago, so I'm going to chalk this weekend up in the "W" column.

Are you still moving at the end of May, I am impressed that you are keeping everything "in house" when you have such a tight deadline. I am sure you will make it (looks great so far)

I am moving in early June. I was relieved to find that the house the school is providing us has a failry generous sized shed with electricity, so I'll have some recourse for doing minor stuff, but I sure will miss having access to the shop down here.
Of course, I may need to take up a big chunk of that shed with a freezer. That part of Wyoming has an absolutely outrageous population of large game animals, and I'm too cheap to just watch all that free meat wandering around.

Nothing wrong with getting all primeval and sourcing your own dinner, so I guess your next build will have a "doeskin" seat

I'm so deep into this thing I'm not yet ready to deal with the words "next build."

I've been drilling some holes. I found a nice spot to stick a key switch:
...but, since the real key to the bike with the M Unit Blue is my phone, I figured I ought to also do this:
Seeing that light up made me smile, but I outright giggled when I got to see this light up:
...And that needs a momentary switch to configure it, so I drilled yet another hole for this very discreet little fellow:

Buzz,
So, how are you going to do it? With key or without? I am planning to do MUnit but I want it to work with and without a key. Let's say I don't have phone with me, can I just put key in as usual and go? OTOH - I want it to work without a key if I have phone on me.
Possible?

This is the first time I've used one, and I haven't paired it with my phone yet, but my inderstanding (based mostly on watching the Revival Cycles videos) is that, yes, it will work without the key if you have your phone, and without your phone if you use the key.

Okay, confirmed. Your question was the impetus I needed to pair up my phone with the M Unit. Now, if the phone gets close to the bike, it comes on without the key. I'm only now seeing the potential downside, that if I'm near the bike for long with my phone, it could run down the battery...

I also learned that your ignition coils will be overheating as well.. I am sure they have some kind of "timeout" maybe? Or maybe additional "switch" need to be installed to disable? Like if I am in garage working on something - I don't want bike to be on?

If everything is controlled by the m-unit, it could be very smart about how it turns on. For example, it could keep the coils and the headlight off until you push the starter button. But I don't know how the system is wired or if the m-unit can see the state of the starter switch.

I'm guessing for safety reasons the M- unit stilll uses the kill switch ?
