Vapor Hone. I'm told he washes out as he goes. he claims no flushing is needed. But im still going to go over it. I've had him do several other item and I haven't found any beads yet. That last group was $220.00, but I also had $39 in shipping it to him. He is on the west side of Michigan. The consistency of the finish he produces is amazing.

Looks marvellous! I suspect he dry vapour blasts to clean the grime and then wet blasts to get the finish.

I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

I think he told me he soaks them in an air craft type degreaser before wet blast. I also try to clean them as best I can before sending them. I took the cases to the quarter car wash with 2 kinds of degreaser and a brush and did the best I could. I will try to find out for sure but that’s what I vaguely recall

This made me a little bit jealous ;) I've been trying to find someone who will vapor blast engine cases but the closest place I can find is the UK. Might have to settle for a very fine bead blast and being very diligent as far as cleaning is concerned.

If you hold your mouse over the house under his profile, it shows he is in Germany.

Calum! There you go! Your new Business Venture! Find some friends and or family to help with financial investment. Which seems minimal. Big hot tank (with natural biodegradable cleaner) for degreasing. Large capacity turbine compressor, need steady cfm! A room with trench drains (compare to a paint spray booth) which you could recover and filter the Sodium Bicarbonate water solution and re-use? (maybe). Very environmentally friendly. Less Governmental rules and regulations in the new crazy pussified whacked world! Cars, Motorcycles, Machinery, Everything people want cleaned!

I was told it wasn't worth being a millionaire in Germany anyway, you just have to give most of it back to the government in taxes!

Your parts look BEAUTIFUL Matt.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationCases are home safe and so is an engine stand. So I took out the FSM and started to read up on the engine assembly. I know this has been asked before and I dont want to start a "Whats the best oil" scenario, Reading thru the FSM it calls out "Liquid Casket" but never states what flavor. I looked thru the net and found a Kawasaki OEM Threebond. The FSM calls out specific case bolts the need both non-permanent thread locker (assume blue loctite) and liquid sealler on the same bolt. How it that accomplished?

I know I will have more questions but lets start with these. Getting the cases together and mounted in the frame, is my first goal.

The bolts requiring sealer are normally the ones that the hole goes through into the crankcase. From the factory the thread area of those bolts was coated with a hard red material referred to as MEC, which was both a non-permanent locking agent and sealer. The ThreeBond product is nice for case sealer, this Spring when I assembled my engine I used a Permatex Gasket product that was blue. I wasn't super happy with it it seemed to dry very quickly, and it took me a while to apply it to the case halves because I'm probably too careful. Speed was never one of my mechanical attributes, lucky I didn't have to work by the Flatrate manual! Very nice engine stand! I usually just use an assortment of wood blocks and haven't fumbled one off the bench, YET.

Have fun assembling your engine, it has always been the most fun mechanical work for me, Mike
