With the length of the hose you have I doubt you'll have any trouble with oil grips, unless your motor is stuffed....    Due to the length of hose, and the up hill trajectory from the crank case, you should be fine...

Nice!  Interesting having the frame painted white.  A lot of detail on that machine.  Just goes to show you that you never know where the stuff comes from on the interwebs.

If my memory serves me well , I think they used a GSXR400 frame with the 750 KH triple, it was around 300 pounds and 130HP, it sure would have been a fun ride..!!

Four thermal cycles on the motor now,  and the drain plug is dripping.  I know I put a new washer under the drain plug. I tried tightening it a little more and cleaning it, but still a very slow drip.  I don't want to over tighten it.  Oh well, new one ordered (made sure it was genuine OEM part).  My DMV appointment is this Thursday, so hopefully I come home with a new title and license plate.  It has warmed up again after a couple week cold snap and a bomb cyclone.  3.5" of rain in 48 hours.  Thankful for the moisture, but it's all or nothing.  That storm raised the Lake Tahoe level by 6"!!!  Mind boggling amount of water for a lake that size.  I just may be able to get this motor broken in before the temps drop below my comfort zone after all.  I would like to have 500 miles on it before it gets parked for the winter.

After 3-1/2 years of possession, this bike it legally mine and tagged for the street!  Just in time for the temps to drop.  This is the first time I have owned a registered and insured street bike since 1992.  Last street bike I sold was a Yamaha FZR1000.

Have you torqued the head again?  Best to do so until you confirm there is no torque fall off.  Back nuts off until they move and then immediately reverse direction and tighten.  I say this as someone that used cheap gaskets one time and found the torque kept falling off with each heat cycle.  Kawasaki doesn't specifically call out retorquing the head in the maintenance schedule but I think they should if you want to assure a well sealed engine.
