God I hope this motor is not toast, it felt so strong the few times I rode it.
Broken bits of what appear to be a red plastic, I thought it was rtv at first but definitely hard and brittle.
Also looks to be a lot of flecks of metal in the pan, what does everyone think?

The oil pump screen and oil filter should catch anything.

That's a metric Speedo. You can overlay or replace the face if needed the sweep is the same. You're going to need to replace the rear case anyway.Zen Shenron wrote: Big score today, was starting to think I would never find one.

Will prob swap with the housing I have and do an overlay, the sweep is the important bit.

While doing some surfing I ran across some pics and videos and I liked the way it looked so I figured what the hell, let's give it a try.

Expect something like this when you drop the oil pan...

I'll run it for now till it becomes an issue.
Just finished a carb down jet the mains were a bit too large so stepped down a size to 122.5's.
Also replaced the float needles, number one was not sealing properly so 4 new needles and seats and a petcock swapout.
I finally received the last oring I needed for my spare, baby steps lol.
The important thing is it is a rideing project so it def gets used, put a few hundred on the clock Sunday .

New boots on order and got some new exhaust gaskets, but need to fix up this header a bit, pics a bit later.
Once I get these leaks sorted, I can start to fine tune the carbs. I have it running a bit rich so I don't melt stuff.

Always something on these bikes demanding attention.
That magnet issue popped up back in 2010, and figured I'd be smart to replace the rotor with an aftermarket unit. After a year of constant problems, I concluded that ONLY Genuine OEM Kawasaki replacement parts are THE best choice in certain situations, this being a BIG one. After I finally relented, a perfect replacement used rotor came up on ebay, and it is still spinning with no issue.
Of tomorrow I know nor care, but of three rotors I have today, two would do to get me there...
