I'm not nick picking, I couldn't if I wanted to. I don't know that much about them. I actually like that it has the accessories. It was actually ridden that way. Most bikes are either restored to what they looked like in the show room or they put more modern upgrades and accessories on them. It's a snapshot in time.68dave wrote: You don't think it's 100% original? Please educate me on what is not original to a 1975. I think the master cyl has been changed, what's your opinion? And of course the accessories aren't original Kawasaki parts but they are from the correct era. I don't plan to change anything except maybe removing the accessories to give it a more factory look. I plan to keep it as original as possible.
I was just trying to make the point that ANY non-original parts IF it had any along with options and accessories, like the windshield, back rest and rack are "period" and add to the interest in the bike and don't take away from it's collectors interest and value. It was only ridden, moderately for a decade! then spent 22 years safely stored. It even has the original seat very rare to see.

Because above 80 you get the typical tank slap butt pucker weave of death!
Nice bike! Without scrutinizing the pics, and besides the obvious accessories, looks pretty original Seat catch is wrong tho. Be careful leaving it out in the sun. The paint is vulnerable to peeling and fading.

Get new side cover grommets and read up on how to secure them.
My Z1 my Dad bought new and is now mine. Like yours, it was sitting a long time. I did more of a preservation than restoration but did add a couple bolt-on mods. It's 95% original.

Mine would do that at 93 mph. Not above or below. I'd lower the windshield. I like mine. I can ride as fast as I want without having to tuck in. Easier on long rides too. Don't have to fight the wind for 100+ miles.

Mine did that at 80 with stock shocks. Haven't had it happen after installing a modified set of ZRX shocks....had it up to 120. No frame brace or stabilizer.
