Nice build mate, not much of a fan of cafe's but the endurance/race bike are the ducks guts, love the old school race bikes. Did you fab the twin filler mount for the tank, or did it come with the filler..? I have a twin filler coming from the US for another project and need the raised mount part, a little higher than yours though.... I'm an Aussie as well....

Thanks for the support guys. Real excited to do assembly on this one.
The wheels are a satin black done by my painter. The engine cases were blasted and powder coated a matt black, and then the barrels were painted with high temp silver. The valve cover is a high temp magnesium look. Then the head fins were linished. It added a bit of time to the build and required a full tear down because the sand blasting gets everywhere, so it was a full rebuild.
750R1, the filler came on it's own, and the mount to the tank was fabbed by my builder. See attached for a few pics.
The welding to the tank was tough as there's a lot of heat distortion to deal with. The result is fine as it will be finished and painted, but if you wanted a bare metal look with exposed welds it would be tricky to achieve because of the different gauge steels used.

Something I didn't consider until later on was the need to vent the tank. The race filler isn't vented, so I had to get a breather / twin ball valve to relieve pressure in the tank. I considered just a breather, but instead went with the one way valve. I got the TBV45 from Newton equipment

A last word about clutch mods; just increase the spring force until it doesn't slip, then ad a little.
I once had left knee reconstruction, and was told I couldn't use my standard shift BMW car for 6 weeks after the operation.
I made a hand operated clutch, using a motorbike brake master cylinder clamped to the gear shift lever [the car already had hydraulic clutch]
It took a gorilla like grip to pull it. Before my surgery, I was training my right wrist a lot. I could still barely pull the thing, but it was possible.
After using it for real for a couple of weeks, I could hold it at stoplights, feather the clutch, no problem at all.
So beef up them springs as necessary, and don't worry about the lever pull too much.

No problem R1. Earls are the distributer in OZ. Not cheap at $80-$90 but better than a plain vent for fuel leakage issues (not that I plan on laying it down at any stage, but you never know!)

The tach came from merlin motorsport in the uk. I was looking at integrated speedo / tach units and was tossing up the motogadget, but that didn't have some of the features I wanted. Not cheap, but I figure you spend the money on the bits that you see and use all the time! like levers, controls and instruments!
