Thanks man, honestly I probably wouldn't go this route again, it was a serious pita to do it all with it still in the frame but I do like how it turned out! Thanks Larriken

We also went to Johnstown BBQ days this morning and afternoon and our boy got a private tour by the firefighters of one of their engines, was a very special moment and a really neat gesture, they absolutely pandered to him and he thought it was the coolest thing ever! Great men and women and I appreciate every single person that does something like that

Stripped off the front fender today during lunch and prepped, masked and sprayed the plastic mud guard with some textured black bumper paint that should be a very good approximation of similar to factory finish. Did 7 coats of the Turtle Wax Back to Black and it still looked like crap, there was sadly just no way to bring that one back so I had to paint it. Pics later this evening after work when I can get her unmasked and in the sun

Soooooo went back and spent a few hours sanding and feathering everything out and sprayed it again, this time it came out brilliantly and really love the look. Here is a before pic and then the finished product:

swest wrote: Is it that soft plastic like on your air cleaner? The paint will come off if so. You can polish that stuff though.

Hey Steve, no it's more like the plastic fenders etc. Soent a long time polishing and still looked like chit so I bit the bullet and painted it. Lots of sanding and many many coats got to here, should be good to go and not coming off
