Then run a string all the way around both wheels. Keep it level. Then you can get a better indication of how your wheels are lined up by measuring the distance from the edge of the tire to the string.
Get the front wheel straight and then start measuring.

If you're going to need risers made for traditional handlebars, you should have him do them now.
I milled out the webbing on the bottom of the top clamp and made some aluminum plates to fit in there. This added strength to the rather thin top clamp.
I threaded those pieces and put nuts on the bottom as well to lock it all up tight.
If you try to run 7 clip on bars, you'll be into major headaches with tank clearance. You'll have to make a new steering stop as it is. Mine is welded to the front the the steering stem tube on the chassis.

how much of a rise would i need to clear the tank?Another thing to consider before Leon is done with the clamps.

13236 if you have the zx7 front master cylinder
so larry, if i buy parts from the bike i have been buying, i should get the front master cylinder, but buy a lever from a 95 bike? im getting lost confused now.....
i was planning on buying the 2000 zx7r front brake m/c and lever/lines, and resevior.
Don't know about the 2000 stuff Joe.
I got the front brakes with master cyl. but there was no lever. I wanted the clutch and brake levers to match as well. The zx6 parts were the answer for me.

joe, here is the bottom of the zx stem(steel)with the kz stem(steel) pressed in to it.
larry chose to use a set screw to secure the two together, which has the advantage of making the stem removable.
in the past i have welded the two together for a permanent fix.you would have to have it machined to separate it.
the zx stem has a snap ring on the bottom od of the stem that locks against a step in the bottom of the lower triple preventing it from being pulled through the triple when tightend.
the kz stem has a step around the bottom od of the stem below where the lower race rides.
so when the two are locked together the snap ring prevents it coming up and the step prevents it going down.
my question to you joe is do you want it welded together or set screwed sir  ?
leon
I can't picture the set screw - anyone have an example photo? I follow to this point and even understand welding the two together, but how would you use the set screw?
