Thanks thats what i did. I took a little off the back of the engine and and a little off the swingarm and voila it fit. Now I'm concernd about the bottom linkage and where its supposed to mount. I won't know for sure until i mount the top of the shock I may try to take a little off of it tomarrow and get it mounted then see if i can mount the linkage. I also started to mount the tank. I will need to bang out the inside of it to make it fit over the frame. Got a little late to finish.

Well I took some photos today. I have removed some brackets that will never be used again, I beat the inside of the tank to fit over the backbone, And I have mounted the gsxr swingarm. I used the stock shock and rocker It feels alright a little soft might be the shock or a combo of soft shock and longer swinger. Front still needs to be finished. But I was able to actually sit on it. :)

That's a cool looking project! Question: why are you not using the gixer shock and linkage?

Looking good. I like the CX tank, I tried one on my KZ but like yours it didn't quite fit right and I ended up with the one I have now kinda by chance. Still the CX has a nice line to it.

Thanks gents the tank is nice very retro cafe without the price. I heated up the tunnel with a torch and hammered it into itself creating enough room for the backbones. damn semi perimeter frames. It actually turned out pretty good. not super pretty but good. to answer the question about the shock and linkage the shock is an inch longer than the stocker and the rocker or linkage is too short I couldn't reach the frame. so with the stock linkage and shock its like I just added a stretched swingarm. Also the top shock mount was too wide for the frame. I will probably end up swaping shocks for something similar to gsxr shock but shorter and a proper spring rate. It is cool going out into the garage with a cold one and seeing it sitting on the stand

I started the stem swap today. Looks like I'll be able to use the zx7 stem and just press the gpz stem into it. Using the zx7 stem as a bushing. I have my gpz stem in the freezer right now. hoping to be able the just slip the two together using heat and cold. If it works I'll have the front end together tomarrow and I'll post some pics.
