Yeah you kinda lit that fuse Terry. You asked if I was gonna make the subframe removable. I thought about it and figured I could just make tabs and weld them on. It was easier than bending and notching and welding tubing. It only weighs 6 ounces or less. Its coming along I'm gonna be building the engine this week.
Peace Travis

well its been a while since I've updated this thread. so here it goes did some more wok on the fender done some work on the controls and did some work on the subframe so heres some pics.

oh yeah and I made some velocity stacks out of the rubber boots from inside the airbox. I cut the lip off and then coated them in some of that plasti dip stuff.

oh and I had to move the kickstand forward I used the one of the 82 frame as it was smaller

Looking good man. As for the heel guard. it looks good. but if it had holes instead of slots, it would go nicely with the holes in the sprocket cover.B)

Yeah Mark I agree. Maybe I'll see if I can put some holes in between the slots I thought about making some heel guards but I dont think they would look as good.

would it be possible to put a cover piece over top and then drill, without it looking odd?

Maybe. That is something to consider. I will probably just leave it the way it is. I have so much to do right now that some of the details are gonna have to wait.I may not even do the body work right now just shoot the stuff with a rattle can and leave it for the summer. Shake it out and ride it maybe sell the gs and use some of the change to send the tins off for a pro to deal with over the winter. We'll see right now just trying to tie up some loose ends. I still have no engine. I was putting the one I have together and I had a plug get stuck anyhow long story short I i dont fell confident that I can get the engine clean enough to feel good about it. I also think the mod I had to do to the cases will cause problems in the long run vibes and all. So I am looking for a set of cases that will fit that I can get blasted and powdered. do it once and its done. I have so much other stuff to do that I'm not even worried about it right now.I'll just keep on keepin on

Thats too bad about your engine man. It looked really nice, and it looked like you put a lot of work into it.

Yeah i did spend some time on it. I should have stopped when I found it did not fit the frame. Live and learn. I will hopefully get some new ones soon and I can carry on with my build. I am working on the subframe and seat now I ordered some small parts to hold me over for a while.
