Time Sert inserts are copper plated for the heat transfer.

Found a lightly used Time-Sert M14 x 1.25 tool kit on ebay...  

Just need four 44111-m14x1-25-x-660-16-8mm-washer-seat-spark-plug-inserts

What’s the OD of the time-sent. I have a head I’m thinking of bringing back to life. One plug hole look like it was drilled our partially.

The result turned out better than I expected.  And it was an easy project to do, thanks to the all-round simplicity of Time-Sert.




Side note;  After the first ride I checked compression.  Readings noted were 165 160+ 165 165

I’m curious, what’s the purpose and how does the stepped tap work.

It guides the tap onto the hole using the old threads so it will be straight and true when done.

I don’t see a drill, am I assuming the tape is started in the stock 14mm threads and it opens up an cuts needed threads for the sert?
