Or have a big wobble , this is an art and takes a steady hand and much measuring. Take your time!Look at lots of pictures of the bike with the decal in the correct place {google}, and save them, show them to whoever is going to apply the decals. I've seen a lot of bikes where the "painter" put the decals on in the wrong place, they only have to be half an inch off ands they look wrong...

i could never get them to lay without tiny air bubbles. Found the easist way was to pull off most of the release paper and backing paper and gently lay them down going from one side to the other. Then rub down to seal.
its a right faff of a job.

I think he’s looking for location dimensions. I searched the internet and didn’t find any. I have a OEM brown tank I can take some measurements from. I have seen location for stripes, maybe talk to Ralph.
Ralph did provide me with some pics of original tanks and a "sketch" of some the measurements for placement of decals.
Thanks for everyone's suggestions.

I found an original paint / stripe ducktail from a Brown 1976 bike on eBay and gave that to the painter as well so he will have no excuses on the tail!
I'm not sure what "faff" is but I get your drift!

Those kind of decal must be appleid wet with sopy water so you can slide it into the correct position. The bubbles and water under decals than can be easy squezz out with a rubber spatula.Instructions for my decals said to lay them rubbing over the top release paper after pulling the bottom backing paper as you went.

This, use soapy water so you can move the decal once its on the tank, makes it easy to rub out air bubbles too....
