That is the one ugly spot on KZs I could never understand that the factory let slide.
I went with custom trees from my Good friend Les Holt at PDM and problem solved

That area didn't look too bad on the early KZ650 (see 1st image below), but Kawasaki cleaned it up on the later KZ650 models by adding a similar name plate bracket (2nd image). Ed
