Hopefully, I was not bidding against anyone here, but I just HAVE to crow a little...Just won a feebay auction on a VERY, VERY nice original seat for Bluella....One of two that I have been able to find, (and about half of what the other guy has been asking for the last 6 months or so)...A BIG piece of the puzzle, finally in place! Hot damn! Coming from Wyoming, so going to be a bit before I get it,,,can't wait! Like a kid on Christmas morning!

Congrats...nice that you didn't get sniped. There are apparently lotsa assholes on eBay (I have been sniped many times but I will not stoop to their level). :)

If they are a new seller, eBay will hold their money until you sign off on it.

First time I have ever bought anything there that wasn't "buy now" I watched the auction time carefully, and made sure I outbid the other guys at the last minute...Is that sniping? If so, I guess I have become what I beheld, lOL!( I have been called worse, bud...It's all good !) LOL! I absolutely know I would have been REALLY bummed if I had lost out on it, so I can empathize with the other guy(s)... I had been watching the bidless listing for a week or two now...I KNEW somone out there (besides myself) would want it....figured they were laying back, hoping to bid unopposed...(As was I) Finally, last night someone bid seller's minimum...I beat that by 13 dollars at the 11th hour, and that was all it took...HAD to have it! I stooped & scooped I guess...Heartfully sorry.....NOT! LOL!

No...sniping is using an automated program with a high limit...not as a person who actively attempts to get into a real-time bidding war...that is defined as an auction :) For example, there is a fellow in Australia who is apparently wealthy and uses a sniping program...you never know he's there until the last few seconds...no matter how much you bid.

You can set your maximum bid. The other buyer can too. When you and I have played it that close to the vest, sometime the time runs out on you. You did good. I like to watch things that are being bid on but not bid, buy the same thing from a different seller whatching the feeding frenzy. This one guy bought a speedo I wanted for $3+ and now has it listed for $150. I can buy a new one for $175. GOOD FOR HIM. It's been up for a year now. WAAAH

GOA good one mate - that was just your good timing on the bid - well done,
Ya gotta watch those bloody Australians - what do you expect from a country started by convicts
My old nerves start going off when it is getting close to the end and it is something you actually need - 99 % of the time it is for the bike

Good for you. I've got some nice stuff on ebay bidding on it, but lost a lot too by 1 bid. I remember when Ebay started, there was no buy it now option, all items were bid on up til the last second, and back then they charged a listing fee for every item on there. So back then you may search on KZ650 for example and there would be 100 or so items, all auction. Now search on KZ650 and there are 106,000 items, of which 105,990 are buy it now for 8x what it's worth. No listing fee, so list everything, bolts, nuts, worn out clutch cables, ect. I wish it was the way it was. You caught one auction, the way it was, the high bidder wins. Cool.

321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

They get 10% no matter what. Pay Pal gets 3%. That's all they care about.
