Definitly pricey, but one bottle will do a dozen bikes! It also passed the real life test, after a week of riding around at myrtle beach, all of my polish was oxidized and pitted, his still looked fresh. Damned my not listening:blush::blush:
Mine:
04 Honda rebel 250(wifes)
04 GSXR 750(bolt on galore)
98 CBR 600F3(filter, pipe, adjustable cam sprokets, dyno tune)
76 KZ900A (LTD gauge pods, crash bars, LTD(style)pipes, dyna coils and ignition, headwork and mild port cleanup by cavanaugh racing, K&N filter pods, heck I dunno.

I always used the black, brown and then white clay. This is after sanding. The white is for a polish shine. I don't use a sealer. At clean up time I take 0000 steel wool to bring the luster back.

Ram, there is a pretty good write-up on the "Dime City" website in the technical section.

Steele, have you used this POR 15 clear on your parts? Just wondering, I may try it out if it's good stuff. The thing I dislike about clears is the yellowing over time.

I will check that out i have been on their site a few times but dont frequent it.

The original Zoop i read some good stuff about it but also read they are out of business you put a type of clear that you buff off to clog the pores of the
aluminum essentially I am gonna try an experiment

have been doing a little reading and i have this thing about paying 100.00 bucks or even 35.00 for a product that is curently available for 6 bucks and someone apples it differently or with Deionized water and renames it. quadruples the price lol

Nope, I am polishing a ZX11D frame right now that I hope to coat in a couple days. You have to wear a respirator when painting with a brush, spray requires full body suit and fresh air supply.

I don't believe this stuff ever yellows, it's not like regular clear.

What I heard about the original Zoop was it was brush on but leveled to show no brush strokes this concept is intriging to say the least. can you post some pic's after application

+ 1 what ram said, if the stuff has a nasty smell during application that's usually a good sign

The color of the compound doesn't mean anything. Different companies use different colors.
You "clean up" with 0000 steel wool?

The color doesn't mean anything? I've never seen anything other than black emory, and brown tripoli.
No matter who I buy it from it's always the same colors.

The compound that companies change color on the most is the "coloring" compounds, but yes, the "cutting" compounds are usually the same colors, but NOT always.
Of course, I'm only guessing as I've not been at this whole "polishing" thing very long. :P
