Spray Chrome Silver gilding anyone ever done it?

I just stubled acrossed it on on youtube couple months ago I must have been living in a
cave because I had never even heard of it til then and the more I talk about it the more people I know that knows someone who used to do it lol

yes it is pretty tough the process isnt that hard the results are lol

i am sure denatured alcohol is an ingrediant ther is a silver concentrate an activator and a reducer that sprays out of a dual chamber gun it is all mixed with deionized water

there is also a wetting agent and sensitizer or tinning agent all mixed with DI water

dirt and oil are your enemy after degreasing a perfectly clean just painted part you cant touch it with your bare hands.

I understand why allot of people have tried it and got out of it. so far it really seems incinsitant but i have only sprayed 2 parts other than a dozen spoons

I relate it to a novice painter that everytime he paints he uses different equipment and materials the process is the same but each time it reacts a little different

had an equipment malfuntion and a chemical malfuntion (got hot and went bad)waiting on a new sprayer and some tinning agent

new sprayer is in I have been reassured my chemicals are still good so today we are gonna try some to chrome some stuff I have had a shotgun apart for ever so hopefully i will get that done today.

I am working on a custom painted emblem that I need to chrome the outer edge on so I will give that a shot will post some pic's during my aqttempts

This looks amazing, looks smooth, id expect alot of orange peel with thst stuff, how is the clear abrasion wise? Like a high solids clear?

yeah i use a high solids clear using up my es 300 going to ppg when this is done it's about 100.00 more a gallon but you get what you pay for (sort of)

My shops been using mipa, german stuff, and after spraying it on a few bikes i like it and at 300 a kit its impressive. You done any croma illusion?

no i havent used a kit yet my chrome (silver) is from angel gilding and I used 5 drops of ppg blue candy and 2 drops of violet per ounce of mixed clear to pull off the chrome effect over the mirror will be using ppg paints exclusively from here on out but the small home projects will get the cheap clear til its gone lol

I wanna try the alsa chrome kit but at 300 a kit for 10 square feet i can cover around 90sf for less than 175. Silver nitrate concentrate amonia and dextrose by any name is still just those chemicals wheter its alsa angel gilding prisma spectra or whatever name they put on it

some are more user friendly less learning curve so i am told but with my limited experience
i've used 2 different sprayers (both the same brand) the 2nd sprayer has yielded much better results with slight tweeking in the application steps

im still learning every piece seems to come out a little better than the last i'm way past 10 square feet i would be about 600.00 in had i bought an advertised spray chrome brand
