i think stickers would look cheap on that bike myself :(
how hard would it be to have another mkII tank painted match?as much time and effort as youve put into that bike id think that would be a more permanent fix. B)
imagine the bottem of that tank blowing out going down the road or when its parked someplace with a hot motor when youre not looking.

i could go with or without on the sidecover emblems.

if i went with sidecover emblems i would def. want them to match the tank emblems and be flat not the plastic badges.

Wireman has a point I wished I would've just bought another tank and painted it. (I am doing that this winter)I repaired and was able to match mine close enough most couldn't tell but I know it's there and wont be happy til I replace it. have a spot on the wall I plan to hang mine.

Yea, a massive leak would sure be bad.

A MKII tank in any condition is hard to come by, then mine is modified for dual petcocks moved further back on the tank to clear the carbs, not to mention the repaint is huge money, even for the tank only. The only way I would like the stickers is when they are good quality and cleared over, just like mother Kaw does it on many bikes.

The gas tank renu process is guaranteed for life and used all over the country on auto gas tanks. Hopefully it will hold now that the pin-hole leaks are repaired. After seeing how beautiful Tri's bike is I've thought long and hard about a factory MKII repaint...I would get another tank then for sure.

Thanks to everybody for all of your thoughts. I like to get the opinion of others who own these old bikes and know how the should / could look.

Thanks for the pic. Doesn't look too horrible but not as good as I had hoped either. Maybe it's the angle that the picture was taken but it kind of stands out.

Just my opinion, but I like the covers with the badges. But, I'd match them with how you have Kawasaki on the tank. Move the KZ1000 towards the front of the cover off the white.

I was thinking the exact same thing...I'd like to have the side cover badges custom made so they are smaller and fit on the blue only...and to match the tank emblems. Not sure if the painter wants to make a stencil and paint the emblems or if he wants to have custom decals made...hope to hear back from him soon.

would it be too costly to have them painted on? i have learned over the years that sometimes its better to cover a mistake (a chip in this case) in a way that doesnt draw your attension to it.
i dont see anythink wrong with blendig the word Kawasaki into the graphics. somethimes it helps to hide by blending.
what im trying to say is, if the letters are separate they can look like an after thought(not that this is all bad, but).if there blended with the graphics they can look like they were in the design in the first place.
when i saw these pics for the first time, my first impresion seemed to favour the 2nd pic.
i think they both look good, but i think if the letters where a dif style it could look very good.
before u settle on the lables, play with some dif ideas and see what u can come up with. maybe u could photocopy some dif type fonts and hold them up to the tank for a better idea? maybe u can find something that realy suites your current graphics ?
