Add Nameplates To New Paint? was created by 79MKII
Well, it's a long story but my gas tank needs repaired after being damaged by a bunch of neanderthals. In an attempt to avoid a complete repaint of the tank ($$$$ :pinch: ), the painter mentioned the possibility of adding a nameplate. I'm not yet sure if he means something painted on or maybe the original tank emblems? Anyway, with my paint the way it is, would adding emblems completely ruin the look?? Here's a quick example...I don't have photoshop:

Still looks great with the Kawasaki you've added to the tank.
What happened? Did some jerks vandalize her while you had her parked somewhere?

it really is going to matter what style.

i'm not feeling the black badging.

but, perhaps some stock styled emblems air brushed on could look nice.

it really matters if you are going to be able to live with it or not.

from your bikes i've seen, detail matters to you and this is one of "those" details.

let us know what you decide.

MK11, Now This will sound nuts, BUT I wonder what "KAWASAKI" would look like with the Japanese characters left to right ( as opposed to up & down ) in silver w/ trailing edges trimmed in black would look like. (really like your' paint by the way)...g

My painter mentioned that he's seen the stock style tank emblems in a flat decal form. He said he could clear over them. Do you guys know where I might be able to find those? I have found the 3-d aluminum stick-on type but need the flat ones. I think I've seen them somewhere before but can't find them now.

I think I'm leaning toward the stock looking emblem or maybe a silver/black type painted to match the graphics.

The story is I had my tank treated at a "gas tank renu" place. They cut 2 big holes in the bottom to sandblast inside and then sealed it. Then I had it painted....and the holes leaked! I took it back and they beat it up pretty good but the painter offered to clear and buff it for me and it came out like new again. It started leaking again recently and I took it back again, wrapped in a towel with instruction to be extra careful with it. This time....all scratched up again but also chipped! Morons! The silver chip can be repaired, one in the blue cannot...unless it's covered with a logo. Either repaint completely or add a logo....

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationNo eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationSo I can find this type of decal:

Looks like stock screw on type but attaches with adhesive.

I can also find the decal type, but only in the wrong style:

I KNOW I saw the KZ1000-looking type but in a flat decal....just can't find them now. Anybody know where they sell them? I think I saw them on here somewhere?

I will keep that in mind, thanks very much. I just heard back from the painter and he has a sample to work with. A tank that came in to be painted had these decals on it. He peeled one off so we could see what my tank would look like. I don't know if he is going to have these made or if he found the source from his customer....I'm waiting to hear back. Here's what it would look like...I think I like it:

What do you guys think about side cover badges too? They would have to go over the graphics though...I'm not crazy about that. Might look OK though?

Or better with just tank emblems??

the flat emblems on the tank look good.

i could go with or without on the sidecover emblems.

if i went with sidecover emblems i would def. want them to match the tank emblems and be flat not the plastic badges.
