For those that have actually sealed a tank which product did you use? I am deciding between the Eastwood product or the POR 15 or Casewell.

p.s. i did a search and there seems there are many threads but no definitive ones and there are several in different sections. Maybe we could create just one like an FAQ for this...um unless there is one and i didnt see it in which case can someone post a link?

I have used por15 have never had a problem on 30 year old tanks after soldering up all the pinholes.....I think it is the best whont seal big holes though use brass screen and solder for big holes....

Did all the reading on most of products, kreem was really pushed as being "the one" but used POR 15, really took my time doubled all steps, double coated tank, ten days later put first fillup in tank thats been three months and a few fillups ago and must say am very pleased, tank looks new inside, didn't need coating yet but now have a new life time tank with no worries about when the seam will leak...it won't.

I coated with por15. Easy process, coating looks excellent. I haven't put any gas in it yet though, but I saw HerrDeacon's, his looks the same as my newly coated one after a lot of use.

Any of the Enamel based "Drying" Sealers are good. The epoxy sealers are a disaster if you do not do the job perfectly because there is no way to remove them to be able to redo the job, besides burning them out. The enamel based sealers can be washed out with MEK. There are many on the market and it is best if you pick one that has no pigment added. The most common good sealers are "POR-15" and KBS "Gold Standard" these both have a silver pigment in them. Northern fuel tank liner is blue and Damon Industries "Red-Kote" is red in color. The sealer I like the best is a "Bill Hirsch" product and here is a PDF file to tell you why.

I think he meant to buy it from their site. A good example of why punctuation was invented.

Here is a link for the Bill Hirsch product. It is the best product I have ever seen and is the only product approved for sealing Aircraft tanks.
