LTDrider I have a 900 LTD that is stock. The mounts for the centerstand are there. Just get a centerstand off ebay for $10-15. Then go get a couple of large sholder bolts about 4 inches long. When you need a centerstand just hang the one you bought. When you don't need it pull the bolts out (no nuts) and off comes the centerstand. You don'nt need the spring or any other hardware. It works great. Takes all of 10 seconds to hang it and less to take it off. The exhaust just keeps it from coming up to ride it but it dosen't stop it from working as a centerstand. Someone put this up a while ago so I tried it and it works great. Who put this up before. maybe i can't explain it right but it is great for stock 900 ltds.

Krammit2:
Oh...
I thought the stock pipes would interfere with a center stand, and it couldn't even be lowered.
So you have the stock Jardine pipes?
Got a picture of your bike?

It's not pretty. I had to have a grandpaw to help me hold the bike and this is it.
You can put padding on the top .
I have another one that fits in my floor jack and the two parts that come in contact with the frame pivot. Roy

Got it, Thanks!
Looks like something I could rig up to fit between my pipes, and grab the front of the engine bottom.

If it's just a one time deal to pull the front wheel, can't you just lay it on it's side in the grass, on a couple blankets? Remove the tank first so it doesn't leak?

I bought a kit with a 2 Ton floor jack and two 2 Ton jack stands for $30 at the local NAPA store this week. Since the 650B has a broken centerstand mount, the floor jack will lift it nicely so long as it's centered. I'll then suspend the front end with a come-along when I'll redo the forks.

I saw a guy do that in order to pressure wash the bottom of his bike and engine block, but I have not tried it me-self...I would be afeared.

Well, it was easier than I thought.
I tried putting the floor jack under the engine, between the pipes, as far forward as possible.
I put a 2 x 4 block under the kickstand, and lifted the bike with the jack.
The jacking point was far enough out front to lift the front end. It wasn't real sturdy, and no good for extended maintenance. But OK for my wheel change.
