kz440 battery vent tubing maybe ? was created by KZmarcel
Hi all,
I was waiting for my new battery to arrive... and ended up disassembling everything under there. Thinking it'd be a good idea to clean, evaporust and repaint the battery tray thing.
One element is puzzling me. I guess it is a battery venting funnel & tube but I would appreciate confirmation before I allow myself to pull on it like a madman.
I'm not expecting to go back to non-sealed non-AGM batteries so I won't need this thing.
Please confirm ?
Regards

If that tube is coming off the air box, it is to drain any oil accumulated from the breather  tube connected to the top of the air box. I have no idea what the setup is.

Thanks. The tube I'm asking about is running down alongside the airbox vent, but it comes off the left side of the battery tray-box, to which it is connected at a diagonal angle with a small funnel-like piece at the upper end. See the center of my first picture in my original post.
It does not seem to have any electrical wiring in it, and it looks like it comes up to meet the + side of the battery where the venting spout is.
I'm fairly confident but I'd love confirmation by anybody who's been there already, before I butcher this tubing thing to extract the battery tray-box.
One confusing thing is there is also a piece of clear tubing coming off the same area, wondering if it's aftermarket or...
    Cheers !

Kawasaki merely calls it a connector hose and pipe. I’d bet money that it is for the battery overflow. Probably you should install the battery so that the overflow nipple is right above the connector pipe.

    THANKS !
I'd read that the Kawasaki website had good resources and now I understand !
Now there is this other diagram for the same bike which seems to indicate a different tubing setup for battery overflow/venting, straight down from the battery nipple.
    Still confused I am.
