Hardrock means, let someone who is building a Z1 use the seat! If it is nice?? Sell the Z1 seat on ebay!!!
It will fund your new seat!!
Have you seen the cool seat Z1 Ent sells? I might even buy one for my project.
I re-upholstered mine 15 yrs. ago from a stock seat.
But these are real nice! For looks! Not comfort though.
Holy Crap! $164 to your door! Thanks Jeff BOZO. Not you Jeff S. AMAZON Jeff Bezos.

That's the seat I want. But it's for the z1 900 , the one for the kz is discontinued.
I'm used to riding a ducati 1098s , it's got to be more comfortable than that.

In what condition is the seat you have? Might trade if in the same shape.

Jeff Bezos is a brilliant man who paid his dues and built an empire worth many many billions more than that entitled brat whom you are parrotting. I hate to see ppl parrot, especially name-calling. Its like youre a kid who cant make his own decisions or assessments.
Rant Over.
And BTW his half brother MARK is a good friend of mine and I know Jeff well. Solid guy.

Ahh! I thought you were going to use an original seat. Sorry about that.
A key point is to have the same distance between the hinges. All Z1/KZ seats up to at least 1980 have the same distance and the front snugs up to the tank.
Z1 seats have only the single screw hole for the latch post. Repro seats should have three holes...one for the Z1 post and two for the "U" clamp used on '76 and later KZ's.

I've found over the years that a 3/4 inch piece of plywood is more comfortable than a Z1/KZ seat after the first half hour of riding. Comfortable seats were not on the menu for Kawasaki back then.
