raising my bike with forks and rims?
12 Nov 2016 19:08
Ok, I know this is a bit strange. But I want my bike taller.
I think I like the taller old school original look better.
So if anyone has parts for sale/trade or ideas for me that would be great.
Here's mine beside the real thing.
Raising the back is easy with my cam chain tensioner, That will give me about an inch in the back..
But the front isn't as easy, with the forks all the way down in the triple clamps already.
An offset triple clamp set could work but might look dorky.
New forks could do it. but I like the ones I have ...except they're about 1-2" too short.
I would actually like to change the wheels to 18" from these 17's. That will give me a bit too.
And the factory looking 7 spoke marvic (or whatever) rims would be nice. (as long as they are wide like what I have now)
I rode an old original 750F superbike way back with CBX forks and 18's and I loved wrestling it around.
And it being tall just felt right.
This bike handles so fast it's just no challenge and feels and handles much more like a new bike to me with all the ZRX stuff on it.
I would gladly sell or swap some of these parts for others if it works.
Thanks,
Steve

I just rotate it 180 and done. but that will quicken up the steering even more without raising the front.
You DO know I mean the drive chain and the cam type drive chain rotating rear axle on the swingarm.
But YES an engine cam chain rotation to raise my bike WOULD be a good trick LOL
Sorry I should be more clear on what I ment.

They have extenders for the fork tubes. It was talked about in Jon's thread Phenox Fighter.
