need a picture that shows the underside(pinch weld in particular) to positively identify it between kz or z1.

Whether it's Z1 or KZ1000, more desirable than an LTD tank to many people.

Definitely not a Z1 tank, it has the wrong latch for petrol cap. Its a kz900 or kz1000 depending on the petcock mount. If it has the 22mm threaded type bung you have a good tank. If it has the bolt on petcock you will need a vacuum operated petcock or get a pingel adapter if using non vacuum carbs

My Z1 or KZ 900 tanks don't look like that.

Seems I have a mystery on my hands. I had a latch years ago and went to a key type. After looking at the Z1 tanks both of mine don't have the cutouts on the bottom. Greg, I stand corrected. I had the Z1 tank on the bike in the wreck and a wrecked KZ 900 for parts. Question is where did I get two late model tanks? THAT's gonna bug me. ![ ](/media/kunena/emoticons/20.png)

I couldn't tell from the blurry pictures, but greg nails it like usual.
The bolt on petcock style tanks I usually use some 1/4" thick aluminum and a 3/8 npt tap to make my own adapter, but there actually are some $30 or so manual petcocks that fit those tanks. I can't vouch for their quality (it's sitting on my parts shelf in my shed, behind my H2) but it's an option

Hi GregZ the seat is for sale, I have someone interested but he hasn't made a firm offer yet, where are you located.
I'll grab some more pics of the tank when I go my lockup
