Progressive 412 shocks, anybody happy?

So I know it's a little late to ask opinions since Ive already ordered them :side:

I had a rear shock blow out, originial stuff.

I ordered progressive 412 shocks with standard springs and progressive front fork springs.
Should be here Tuesday, this was one of the more economical choices.

Looking for reviews from folks who run this set up.

I think you will be happy. I've used their springs are several bikes and liked them. I don't have any personal experience with the shocks but think they are a good value.

I changed to fresh 10 weight oil up front and it helped but still pretty harsh over bridge seams and other small stuff.
My rear shock just kinda puked all the oil out while sitting, was dripping down on the wheel and tire.

It's got to be an improvement.

New progressive springs up front in 13. 15W oil and the front end glides over the bumps large and small. I replaced all the wheel bearings too. I'll get emulators eventually but no hurry.

I got the progressive (brand) gas shocks for my rears along with progressive springs and they are way better than stock.

What air pressure are you running in the tires? Ed

I really like the 412 shocks. I was able to fit some Kz550 Ltd springs to the 412 shocks with slight modification. The Ltd springs were actually a little longer than the gpz springs, and were closer to the right diameter.

The only problem is that they don't come in the length I would like. They are about 1/8" shorter than stock 81 gpz550 shocks. I ordered longer ones and cut them down.

Low 30's,
The new shocks and springs should be sitting on my porch when I get home!

I'm having some clearance issues with mine, see this thread. I'll probably switch to some slim Hagons at some point.

I'm using 13.5" so hopefully I won't have those issues.

Well in my case it's not the length that's the issue, it's the offset of the lower mount and the spring diameter.
Offset set one way causes the bottom of shock to hit my muffler, offset the other way causes the lower portion of the spring to nearly hit my chain.
