Swing arm mod Z1/ZZR1200 was created by SWest
I'm thinking on using this as a swing arm mod. I have a friend that can weld on the brackets for the shocks and brake stay.

looks like a nice candidate Steve. Does the pivot tube fit? Can you use the KZ pivot bolt or would you have to make modifications?

It says ZZR1200, ZX2C swing arm. It might be too short.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationhave em measure across the pivot tube.
kz900/1000 are 9.250"

most of the bigger than 600 kawa arms are too wide to make fit.

when going with dual shocks make sure the caliper mounting is not going to interfere with your shocks.

leon

p.s. i have modded several of these

to fit kz's if you are not wanting to go with bigger than a 180mm wide rear tire.

Thanks Leon. I'm looking to use my stock rim and drum assy. I just want a stiffer swing arm. There are other ones I've been looking at but the one I posted is so cheap, it might be worth experimenting with.

Seems like there are way too many zx6 swingarm swaps lately. Was creative at first.

Cant say i blame anyone, arms are cheap, and they're real easy to fit. And I did it too

prolly done 8 myself.

steve,
if all you want is a stiffer arm you could have a stock arm braced and achieve that goal.

cheaper than a swingarm swap.

That's what I did to the bike in my AV, 03-04 zx6 swingarm, stock 900 rear wheel. Have a wider rim that's going to get laced to the hub if I ever feel the need. Paid $20 SHIPPED for the swingarm, had to make a bushing for the pivot bolt, use the stock zx6 axle bolt as a bushing and use I think a tt600 triumph axle (longest 20mm bike axle i could find) welded inside the end of the zx6 number.

Would I do it again? Nope. Too easy, too many out there (saw one in person this summer even) would rather do an underbrace (stock length etc) or a custom, maybe a zrx or zephyr arm? One more thing; with the 18" wheel and the longer than stock kz arm I had to ditch the rear fender, which makes the bike look naked to me

If I still had my spare arm, I do that but it was destroyed in the fire. The arm I'm looking at is probably too wide. I don't want to cut off parts of the frame. I'll keep looking.
