kz400 rotor options

Anyone out there happen to know of other "lighter" rotor off the shelf type options? This is for a 76 model, and I know the 440 won't fit.

Here's the stock one for reference which is marked as 7.04mm thick:

Maybe a kz305? Curious if it's any lighter though as I could drill the current one if that's what it comes down to. Offset is also something to consider.

This is the kz305 and it's marked 4.77mm in the ad:

The outside diameter is the important part. Off set too. Mine are 11 5/8" a round approx. The drilled ones are 1/2 the weight so you can go duel. Steve

Is that on a kz400? What rotor is the one with holes? Bolt pattern? Etc?

I see the kz200 has a 4 bolt pattern as well and is a similar thickness to the kz305 but not drilled.

I'm leaving on a trip so here are the measurements.
OD 11 5/8"
Hub size 57.97 mm-2.28"
Bolt spacing 78.98 mm-3.109"
These are approximate and off a Z1/KZ 900-1000. Will fit other bikes too.
Yours may be smaller.

Looks like the kz200 and kz400 hub share the 8x25 bolt. Unsure about pattern yet, but the kz305, 650, 750, and 1000 share the 10x30 bolt.
The kz200 disc is apparently thinner, but unsure of the OD, offset, and bolt pattern at the moment.

If the hub size and the bolt pattern are the same, you might be able to use a bushing for the bolts. Only other problem would be the outside diameter. If it's too big, all bets are off.

I'm going to get a good solid measurement from the stock kz400 rotor and see what I can compare to from there. Looks like the kh400 may be another option, but not sure yet.

You can have them drilled for $45 plus shipping.To go duel you may have to buy another fork leg and switch them around. You'll need a different fender and grind off a couple mounts. There's nothing like having good brakes.

Oh and that LF mark on the one disk, There's no left and right, he just wanted me to buy both. Didn't work. :woohoo:

I may just get it drilled like you said. I think upgrading to a lighter caliper may be another place to consider. I have a lightweight tokico laying around but not sure if there would be enough spoke clearance yet.
