I am taking the fork leg out of my 82 GPz750 and the fork oil was coming out of the air valve when I removed it. I am doing this to change the fork oil seals because there is oil coming down the outer tube on the right. There was also no air pressure when I removed the valve. What is my issue besides my fork seals if any?

IDK if there is an issue with the air valve or if there is a seal or valve issue inside the fork.

How much air pressure have you been running in the forks? Ed

If oil is leaking out when you remove the valve it might be the oil level is too high, IIRC there is a misprint in the manuals but I used 250ml either side, blended 12 weight but I'll go 15 or more next time. I remember taping up the oil holes when filling the loose forks.

Add some air, maybe 10 psi with a hand pump and see if it holds it. Too high pressure with an airline will pop your seals.

FSM says 256+/-4 if filling dry.

I put some on mine years ago. Leaky seals. Progressive springs, new seals AGAIN, put hard caps on the valves and no more problems.

OK from what I can tell, It isn't necessarily a bad thing for oil to come out of the air vale and the recommended pressure is 10 psi +/- 3 or so,
