OK so this inst a kz question but i figure this is pretty universal. so the deal is i'm picking up a 1992yzf 600 that'd been in a crash. he said the forks are straight but the frames slightly bent. i was wondering if there is anything i could do to correct this? keep in mind either way i'm getting this bike, because its complete and hes only asking 50$

How could the fork not be bent unless he replaced them?

For $50 buying it is a good idea, but then I would just part it out. Otherwise you will end up spending more money to fix it than it will be worth when you are finished. Ed

steel or aluminum frame?
the frame material is going to be the big factor in repair or not.

that would be easier to repair than the aluminum.
have to post some pics when you get it.

Frames can be straightened depending how bad he damage is. Any impact enough to bend a frame is going to have a lot of other damage, seen and unseen.

Unless he has stripped the forks and rolled them on plate glass I doubt if he really knows whether they are straight or not.

Bear in mind if you are breaking it, a lot of the bits most in demand will be the bits that get smashed up in a crash. Buy very cheap or walk away...and make sure it isn't stolen.

Frame Type: Steel Deltabox

If it's that bad, just wait for one to show up on Ebay.

Yamaha didn't make the YZF600 untill 1995, so you may be looking at an FZR600.

Be it a YZF or an FZR,I dont see it being worth the money to straighten the frame or even replace with an ebay one. Unless everything else is in a tip top,fantastic condition. Maybe its good for spares or,if its a 'cat,you can use the wheels,suspension,brakes etc to put onto your KZ.
If it an FZR maybe not worth it but you could do something fun with it like this;

Whatever you do beware of the ' Its only 50bucks'. Because for sure,it wont be.
Good luck .

Davido that looks awesome! And yeah I've yet to dig into it but like I said only 50$ so I can't go wrong. I was mulling over the idea of putting the engine from my 550 in it. Anyone have any experience with something like this? Anyways thanks for all the responses guys I'll send pics as soon as I get it
