is this supposed to two parts? was created by gcphoto
Winter projects continue! I disassembled my front brake calipers to paint them and they look great. Now that I have it apart I was inspecting the parts and it seems that #11 and #12 in the manual diagram, the caliper holder and outboard pad, are fused together from rust. Any advice to separate these two? Soak in PB in Kano Kroil? I realize I'll probably need new pads because it might be damaged when I get it out. I'd like to sand the holder smooth of rust. Also, is the holder paintable with caliper paint?

Give it a good thump with a screwdriver handle after soaking it in some wd40 or something. :)

Still recovering, some days are better than others.

Will do. I actually thought it was one part until I looked in the manual.

It's supposed to be able to float back and forth so the pads wear evenly. I forgot that when I put my drilled disks on. Once they freed up the pulsing damn near went away. Still have to have them milled.

I know the early 76 style are different from the Z1 of course. But This 76 and up style cover quite a few KZ models? 400, 650, 750, 900 etc.
I have tried to ebay these items? And no one looks at them?
I Love and Hate ebay!
All I can say is WTF? at this moment!

Check out that shiny paint job! Hopefully mine will look like that when I'm done. Did you paint them yourself?

I don't care if he says the economy is getting better. No one is buying. We go into a depress cycle every 10 years. eBay is like a snake eating it's tale. They were talking about a double dip recession. I think it's starting. If you have something to sell, do it now.

You're right. Prices are dropping fast on eBay. I'm a photographer and recently had to unload some gear and got way less than I expected.

A focus group listening to the the rape of the union speech disagreed with El Hefe when he said the economy is getting better,,,,,Dems and Reps alike. Sure isn't getting much better here either.

I live near Portland, Oregon and my rider is a '76 KZ900 I bought new. I'm also in the process of restoring another one and a '73 Z1.

Yeah, but just think about how much money is being saved by this forum and ones like it. I like the fact Ford didn't take the bail out but GM did. My daughter had 6 recall items on her Malibu. Too big to fail? BS
