Swingarm Conversions

Here is a list of swingarm pivot to axle lengths for swing arm swaps that people may be considering. I collected these for my KZ650 but the lengths are still useful for others.

Swingarms axle to pivot distances / Pivot mount width / Hub mount width
ZR550 - 20.5" / 9"
ZX636 (2003) - 22" /
ZR750 (2000) - 21" /
GPZ750 - 20.5" /
ZX600 (1986) - 20" / 9.125"
GSRX750 (1990) - 20.7" (in the forward axle position) / ?
ZRX1100 (1999) 20.7"/9,25" (width not confirmed)
GS1100 21.25" (not confirmed) / 8.6875" / 10.25"
CB1000 (1994). 23" / 11" /

Any others that I've missed that are common for swapping in on the KZ's?

The oil cooled Gsxr swingarms can be made to fit quite easily and the 750's arm won't lengthen the bike too much if at all. If you want to keep the twin shocks then it'll just be a matter of welding on some shock mounts which I believe Z1Enterprises can get.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configuration03-04 zx6/636 is nice later model stuff to use as well, like dnels bike..

that gets you into some nice late model brakes wheels and suspension.
you gotta have some machine work done on the pivot and weld shock mounts on and modify the caliper mount to clear the shock.
but,the swingarms go for cheap and the machine work isn't that expensive.

and you get to keep it kawi !!!!!!!!!!!!

i don't recall how much longer the arm is than factory.

a little slice and weld gets the caliper out of the way.

The ZX6 arm added 2" over stock length to my bike. Leon steered me towards that arm and I'm glad I took his advice. Super easy to convert.

I run an 83 GPz750 arm on my F1 that's 2 1/2" longer then the stock arm.
Easy swap I trimmed about 1/16" off each end of the tube and the drilled the frame to fit the GPz bolt.
Z1R rear hub with a cut down disk to fit the GPz caliper and made spacer ring's to fit GPz bearing's
for the GPz axle bolt.

I think if I moved the chain over I could get a 170x18 on it.
Tape is were the tire would be.

Ok good I'm hoping to get at least a 160 -17 on the back in place of the 130/90-16 that's on there now.

Gave up on the GPZ750 arm when I couldn't find a chain guard for them. Figured I'd keep looking. Right now I'm waiting back for length on a GSRX750 arm and for the ZRX1100 arm.

Edited the first post to have the useful information in it.

The GSXR750 arm is 52,5cm long, forward adjuster position, i do not have a pivot measure but could take one on Sunday. Are you measuring with the dust caps in place ?

Hard metal to hard metal. If the dust caps contain washers then yes please include them. Thanks!
