I have the same problem on my 77 KZ650c. The spline basically completely frozen to the frame. I finally got the brake pedal off with about a week of effort, but I am stuck on how to get the spline off. Should i heat it up really hot and try to bang it out? How is the spline situated into the frame? Should it eventually just pop out of the rear of the bike?

Thanks guys.

If you got it to move, it might be possible to tap it through now. Clean everything up and water proof grease it.

Is the spline just metal on metal in the frame? If I heat it up then is that going to ruin anything?

I don't think there is a bushing in there. There might be. I had the same problem on my break arm at the cover. I soaked it, tapped on it one side then the other, eventually it came out. No one thinks to lube these points.

Yep. No bushings or anything. Hit it with some PB blaster and a torch and it popped out without too much trouble.

Thanks for the help!
