That is one awesome looking swingarm Leon!

I'm gonna be running a Yosh. I've never fitted it to the bike, so I don't exactly know where its gonna run.

It may be tough to put spools on an under braced arm if you have an early yosh like this - or on a regular arm for that matter. The yosh mounts off the passenger peg an runs underneath the swingarm. Not much room inbetween pipe and arm either, IIRC.

Pic from EricHa

On mine I am using the lower shock bolt as the spool mounting location and I still had to shorten the pipe to pick the rear up with the stand.

Yeah I was wondering about yours, whether you had to shorten it or what. I may have to go a similar route. Why did they design a pipe that made you delete the center stand and then never left any space for spools? Weird.

How about this Leon. Weld in some inserts as close to the back of the swingy as you can. I might end up doing the shock bolt thing like Sander, but I don't want to limit myself before its all together.

Tdub, maybe u and Leon can put your heads together and come up with something that works with a modified rear stand?
It may be simple enough to modify a stand to work around the issue?
Leon is very good at thinking outside the box, ang u have some great design skills yourself.
I had to slide a threaded rod all the way through the axle on my cbr to put mounts on it, since it had no provision on the arm.

just a thought.

I guess I could easily tap the ends of my axle and put them on that way. I think from the pics I've seen of the Yosh pipes that that might clear it. I think between that option and the shock mount option something will work.

How do you get the rear wheel out on the stand when your spools are on the axle?

I never said it was a perfect solution.lol

To be honest. i just did it for a quick fix, so i can hold the bike up for chain lubes and other maint. i still need to find a better solution. But it will be fine for most jobs, i think. i will have to weld something on the arm or just use a jack for tire changes.
as it turned out, i replaced the spools with sliders, last week. the sliders neck down on the base so i can still get the stand on them just like the spools.

thanks for the comments guys.
one of the hard things about trying to do custom work when you don't have the bike for test fitting,is being able to forsee all the little obstacles that can hang you up.
it looks like that yosh gets pretty cozy with the swing arm  .
