WHAT?!  You mean to tell me that upgrading to modern rubber and a stiffer/modern swingarm improves handling? Say it aint so!
So far so good Leon. I am jelous of your shop tools though. A super sturdy tubing bender, and I'd loooooove to learn how to tig

I didn't get to see what was all involved in the making of the bracing to my swingarm, so this will be great to see from start to finish Leon.
Not even sure what was used to weld mine.
I just handed away my arm, and some weeks later got this:
It sure has helped add stabilty in the corners and over bumps at highway speeds.

Yummy... me likey metal fabby ....
Leon, what are you using for the pivot tubes?
meaning are you fabbing from scratch or cutting off the original pivot tube and welding it into place...
Keep them images coming...
OMR
BTW, your tube bender gave me a good idea for what I could use for my exhaust pipe bender.... Sorry but I'm possibly stealing your idea there.... :S

something , i just recalled.
there is an article in the file base called Street Racer. in the article they mentioned that it would increase rigidity if u broadened the depth of the stock center brace.also a great place for an oil catch can.
i'm sure u have seen this Leon, but i thought i would bring it up for others.

porchev,
i made good progress on the arm over the weekend, and i even took pics
.but when i rolled my groggy headed a$$ outta bed and looked at my computer(which had been downloading virus scan updates all night)yesterday it had a popup that said i was being attacked by a virus and before i thought i clicked the button.DAMN,it installed something that is trying to make me buy some kinda antispy b.s.and it won't let me get into the add remove hardware/programs dealio.so until i can get my puter b!tch slapped:angry: back into line i can't get the pics down/uploaded
.
i have most of the tubes notched and fitted and am making a run to factor 1 racing at lunch for some more chro-mo.hope fully i can get some pics up pretty quick.
omr,
when i custom build a swingarm i fabricate a new pivot tube as well.on t_dubs swingarm here we are just adding an under brace so the stock arm and pivot tube is still in use.
mark1122,
that is a good trick to help stiffen a stock swingarm instead of under bracing.stealthy  .

i got my computer lined out.i was able to go in through my wifes profile and delete my profile and then reset me a profile back up and it seems to have cured my problem.
i neglected to take the chain run into account on my first fit ups so the tubes i had bent would not work.so i just welded some tube together to get the chain clearance and to be able to get the tubes fit up and notched and help in layout.then i will go back and bend the lower tube in one bend.not having computer controlled benders makes it time consuming to get correct bends.at $3.66 per foot for chro-mo you hate to miss bend
.it all gets used somewhere tho.
on to the pics,
.
here i am getting the chain line and gusset tubes all fitted.
the chain line is crowding the area where i want the back gusset tube,so that tube will be bent and fitted to allow ample chain clearance.

i have a joint jigger for notching tube, but when you have tube that has bends in it the joint jigger can't really accomodate them properly.so i built a tube holding jig for holding the tube in a mill vise then just use my holes saws chucked in the mill.worked great,
.
here is the gusset tube for the right side and one of the other front tubes fitted.

thats it for now,

never mind, for some reason I thought the center stand tube was rearward of the swingarm pivot, but it turns out I'm just insane.
