That'll be a nice front end; you'll definately have to do the stem-swap (some older gixxers had a usable stem), but that's some good equipment.

do you know which years/models stems are usable?maybe i can just get one of thise instead of modifying the one ill get...make it easier if at all possible.

For $250 does that include the wheel and rotors? If so you should jump on that for sure. My two cents, you should just swap stems. That way it is nice and simple you don't have to go around searching for bearing combos and jerry rigging stuff up. I just got on craigslist and searched "machinist", contacted the first name I saw and struck a deal. If you can't find someone I can give you the email of the guy who did mine. Cost $100, and maybe another 15 for you for shipping(unless you happen to live in the Cincinnati area).

that includes everything but the master cylinder...it's broken.and the front tire is flat so I'll need a new tire too.I'm trying to come up with that 250 to get it.I'm a broke student.haha.

But I talked to the guy today and let him know I couldn't get it this weekend but as soon as I have the money I'll be going to get it.

That's fair...I'm a broke professor, so at least we have balance, eh?!

My conversions all cost about $100 each so that should give you a price range to shoot for...once you get your equipment.

time to revive this thread...so im getting the 2001 GSXR750 front end finally either tomorrow or monday.i know i need to swap the stems and whatnot,but there are a couple other issues i need to address by people who have done this..

how did you remount your headlight/instrument panels?and handlebars too?

that is about the only thing that i can see me having a little issue with right now,the rest will be simple.i can probably do everything myself at school or get it done easily.and should i get new bearings too?or can they be repacked?

There are several threads in the 'Projects' that showcase site member efforts in all these areas.
Are you going with bars or clip-ons? If you are going clip-ons that will be self-evident. If bars, then there is the 7/8" route with traditional bars, or the fatter-bars such as a set of ProTapers (the route I took on the last one). Also, you'll likely need to customize your cable lengths; a great excuse to go 'teflon' or 'braided steel'.
Are you going to mount your mount your head-light to the frame or to the forks..either way is do-able. Once you figure that out, then you can go from there.
