I will be using the bike for spirited street riding. Anybody weighed their bike after fork and wheel swaps? How much can I realistically expect to take off?

well ihave weighed my drag bike with the swing-arm change and wheel swap and removing all extra parts that wern't needed my bike now weighs 395 lbs,i never did weigh the individual parts but according to the manual my bike weighed about 525 dry stock,i personally think the most important weight loss came off the rotating mass lighter wheels, brake rotors, chain and sprockets, it feels like it spins up alot faster just because of those things being reduced in weight.

Throw her off your bike...

Swing arm and rims alone will save some weight. If you can afford the $$$, carbon fiber rims now days...

hahhahaha... Timebomb33, put one of those on your drag bikes and you won't need a drag bar....

Calculate weight, drag, friction, distance of travel...
1/4 mile in about 3 hours... New record! :P

Sorry my KZ brother, I just couldn't resist.

One thing, is that a Ninja 250? Holly smokes, if that's a 600, whoa, that is one big girl!

I usually like to start lightening with the unsprung weight by using different calipers and discs. Often times the newer discs and brake calipers(dual discs) weight less than the stock single disc alone. Using newer lighter calipers and lighter discs will not only give better braking, but will also give better handling through less unsprung weight.
I had this set up on my 76 900 for a while and it made a very noticable difference in handling and in braking. Aluminum rims (on a spoked wheel) will also save some weight.

When the "Little Lady" goes with me, I need these.

This set is on my Honda and the 6 piston calipers have a lot of "bling" but they are heavier than need be. They will probably be replaced with a set of 4 piston calipers as I'll lose almost 1.5 lbs of unsprung weight just by changing the calipers to 4 piston calipers.(CB 750 w/ GL 1000 forks)
